Thanks Ryan! This type of functionality is absolutely something that everyone can benefit from. I'd go as far as to claim it should even be in the Rails core.
I discovered simple_form some weeks ago and I'm loving it. Yes formtastic is great but I love the much, much simpler html/css generated by simple_form and in 99% of cases I've no use for the more advanced formtastic features.
Nice stuff, Ryan. One of the things I love about your previous podcasts was the keystrokes in the top right hand corner of the screencast when you were in textmate.
I don't see them in this screencast. It's one of those hidden gems in your screencasts... increasing my knowledge of textmate shortcuts.
Specifically, around 2:04 when you did a keyboard shortcut to copy the line directly above. **This could be editing magic, but I doubt it.
Hope to see these in the future, but no big deal if you don't. Whatever makes these things easiest to produce, go for it.

Thanks for the podcast. I was hoping that you would have covered nested forms with Simple Form. I haven't found any documentation about how to handle that. I guess I could read the source.
"Me Too"…
I wish you had covered *nested* forms maybe in conjunction
- with :has_many :through (nested self join HABTM)
- Dynamically extending the form with multiple nested objects and a touch of UJS/JQuery after on.
First off, I love your podcasts & books ryan. They have been an immense help.
I would love to see how you do "user generated forms". handeling field_types (ie. checkbox, select, etc) and moving them in positions on the form. As well as how you would handle the user inputed data for each form.
I think it would make a welcome podcast. I have been googling for days and couldn't find anything to explain best practice on how to do this.
FYI.
To uninstall simple_form from your project, comment gem 'simple_form' in your Gemfile and run this commands:
rails destroy simple_form:install
bundle
Seems simple_form has quite a few bugs with Mongoid and doesn't work properly at all - the authors simply say "we don't use mongoid, we don't care" :( - Any alternatives that work well with Mongoid?

Nice, concise screencast. Keep'em coming!
Very Nice screencast. Thanks!
Ryan, Where is the FLATTR button on this site man?

Thanks again for all of your work.
Im really surprised at how jose valim keeps up with making so many useful gems.
Thanks ryan
Great!
Congrats to @plataformatec and @josevalim.
so, which features in formtastic are not in simple_form? would i miss them?
Is there any additional tutorial to add new component?
Thanks.
Thanks for this episode! simple_form seems very useful.
Just curious how it plays with other gems such as jquery-autocomplete and dragonfly?
Cheers
How about paperclip?
How do I manage to get them working together?

Really really nice! I like the conciseness in generating forms; the errors right next to the fields(!);
Is it a good fit with other ORMs besides activerecord ?

As I understand common difference is generated HTML only.
Formtastic one is a bit complex
What are the advantages of simple_form vs formtastic ??
Does simple_form support text_field_tag?
is there any way to rename the fieldname in the form for Simple Form?
im getting this error because I dont have this attribute on db.
unknown attribute: ref_states_id
the fieldname in the form supposed to be state !
What's the easiest way to uninstall simple form from rails3 project?
